Senior Oil Trader

Role Overview:
Seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Oil Trader to manage trading activities in APAC oil markets. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of the oil markets, and a proven track record of generating profit while managing risks.

Responsibilities:

• Trading & Market Analysis:
  • Execute trades in crude oil and refined products, including hedging strategies using derivatives.
  • Analyze market trends, supply/demand dynamics, and geopolitical factors affecting oil prices.
  • Monitor trading positions to ensure compliance with risk limits and company policies.
• Business Development:
  • Identify and capitalize on trading opportunities in physical and paper markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with counterparties, including refineries, shipping companies, and financial institutions.
• Risk Management:
  • Assess and mitigate market, credit, and operational risks.
  • Collaborate with the risk management team to ensure trades are aligned with the company’s risk appetite.
• Collaboration & Reporting:
  • Work closely with internal teams, including logistics, operations, finance, and compliance.
  • Provide regular market insights and performance updates to management.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience in oil trading (physical and/or derivatives) in Asia-Pacific markets.
• Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of global oil markets, pricing benchmarks, and trading instruments (e.g., swaps, futures).
• Analytical Skills: Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities to evaluate market data and identify trading opportunities.
• Communication: Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are advantageous.
